Storage and management by the manager for a period of time to sufficiently reduce radiation and heat before the temporary storage of spent nuclear fuel taken from the plant is sent to a disposal facility. Two methods are available for intermediate storage :
· Wet Storage
- Storage for cooling heat and shielding radiation from spent nuclear fuel using water, such as in a storage tank in a nuclear
· Dry Storage
- Storage that cools the heat of spent nuclear fuel with gas or air and shields radiation with concrete or metal.

Concrete Cask Type
Storage method mainly used in the United States, near the plant.
A term of ISFSI (Independent spent fuel storage installation).

SILO Cask Type
A method of storing spent nuclear fuel bundles of CANDU reactors.

· Dry storage technology including low combustion assessment, transport and storage of spent nuclear fuel is already used, and the construction and operation of dry storage facilities is extensive.
· In Korea, the technical information data for low combustion is limited across all areas of the technology regarding dry storage of SNF.
· In case of SNF, there is almost no DB required for development of dry storage technology in both countries and countries.
